History

Tiltrans started as a contracting firm in Oosternijkerk in 1912. Its logistical activities consisted of transporting cattle. A company take-over took place in Burgum in 1958 and we moved from Oosternijkerk to Burgum. In 1962 we were invited to work on the reclamation of the Lauwerszee. This order was completed in 1969
After the reclamation, there was little work for the tipping wagon fleet and it was therefore gradually reduced. Tiltrans then started to concentrate on national and international transport. In 1979 we moved to our current location at the mr. Oppedijk van Veenweg in Burgum.

Organisation

At this moment, the logistics activities of Tiltrans are carried out by three subsidiaries, viz., Tiltrans Milieu BV and Tiltrans Noord BV, both situated in Burgum (province of Friesland), and Tiltrans Zuid BV, situated in Best (province of Noord-Brabant).

Reliability, flexibility, properly trained and motivated staff and short lines of communication between the customer, the planning department and drivers are our strengths. The head office in Burgum consists of a number of departments: central management, secretariat, administration and planning.
