Subsidiaries At this moment the logistical activities of Tiltrans are accommodated in three subsidiaries, viz., Tiltrans Milieu BV and Tiltrans Noord BV, both situated in Burgum (province of Friesland), and Tiltrans Zuid BV, situated in Best (province of Noord-Brabant). Tiltrans Milieu BV organises offal transports from large abattoirs in The Netherlands. Tractor-trailer combinations are used to carry out these transports. The tipping trailers have been fitted with watertight containers and are fitted with hydraulic closing lids. Tiltrans Milieu BV currently employs 17 drivers. In addition, Tiltrans Milieu BV has 12 towing units and 20 towed units at its disposal.
Tiltrans Noord BV and Tiltrans Zuid BV possess a shared fleet with a wide diversity of vehicles, viz., tipping wagons, silo blower hoppers, canvas trucks, walking floors, hopper and open trucks with auto loading cranes. Tiltrans Noord BV currently employs 32 drivers and Tiltrans Zuid BV employs 6. In addition, Tiltrans Noord BV has of 28 towing units and 61 towed units at its disposal. Tiltrans Zuid BV possesses 5 towing units and 6 towed units.
In-house workshop
Tiltrans has a roofed storage with a capacity of more than 5,000 m2 for storing and expediting a variety of goods. The operational area of Tiltrans Noord BV, in addition to The Netherlands, covers large parts of Europe; the main countries being Germany, Belgium, France, Denmark and Great Britain.
Our in-house workshop has been fitted with a grease pit and the latest high-tech equipment to carry out the necessary repairs, maintenance and renovations on more than 45 towing units and approx. 87 towed units, comprising the fleet of Tiltrans. Our workshop employs 3 mechanics. Engine overhauls and renovations are carried out in addition to the standard equipment maintenance. The workshop is also equipped with a brake bank and a variety of measurement and calibration equipment in order to carry out complete motor vehicle tests (MOT). Two of our mechanics are certified motor vehicle inspectors (MOT). Tiltrans is in possession of a rinsing/washing installation where cleaning takes place in accordance with the regulations of the NAO, the Dutch Potato Organisation. |
